Something many do not see- The 400 amp Meter Load Center
Here in the land of electricity I often see larger services on residential. It is not uncommon for me to see 400 amp services and then I will on occasion see 600 and 800 amp services on homes, and we are not talking mansions.
Here is an example of 400 amp Meter socket and load center combo.
This comes from the factory with a 200 amp main breaker installed but also has a service connection for an additional main breaker up to 200 amps.
