Seal, Trap and Clean- East Wenatchee and Chelan Home Inspections

I love the country settings for homes (I have one). You can have peace and tranquility. The home usually has much more space than the suburban setting. Many times these homes are second homes so the owners will only be there so many weeks in a year.

Having a part time occupancy will have its unique challenges. When doing home inspection in rural areas many times I find the home has some unwanted guest. These guests do not clean up after themselves. They can do a lot of damage to the home and there could be health risks.

Here we have a couple examples of guests gone wild.

Rodents in crawlspaces and attics will destroy all the insulation. They may chew on wiring and destroy vapor barriers.

Their feces may carry diseases such as hanta virus.

When identifying entrance areas look for grease marks (or rub marks) from the oil and dirt of rats and mice. They will often appear along wall areas and next to runways and openings they are entering.
